What is the Dream Gap?

Research shows that starting at age five, many girls stop believing their gender can be anything. This is called the dream gap, and to help close it, Barbie launched the Dream Gap Project in 2018.

The barbie Dream Gap Project’s mission is to inspire the next generation of girls to reach their full potential by funding ongoing research, highlighting positive role models, and creating inspiring content and products.

As the original girl empowerment brand, we’re proud to champion the Dream Gap Project. The ongoing global initiative aims to give girls the resources and support they need to continue to believe that they can be anything.
